Castilla-La Mancha has greatly advanced towards progress, development and social welfare in the last twenty years due to democracy, freedom, political autonomy and also to Europe.

A great effort in improving infrastructures has been done to achieve this advance; the challenge now resides in increasing the investments in R+D+i and in information society technologies in order to keep on preserving and improving the citizens’ competitiveness and quality of life. In this area we should not forget the effort done in programmes related to the reconciliation of family and professional life, to the support for employment creation and for improving people’s training and capabilities as well as fighting against any kind of discrimination or social exclusion, in line with the Lisbon Strategy.

Our region leads the field of renewable energy sources and, due to European aid for the 2007-2013 period, we will deepen even more in the use and development of these energies so as to contribute to achieving the Gothenburg aims.

We will keep on progressing in the implementation of infrastructures for water treatment and supply that enable a sustainable management of water resources, helping in environmental and biodiversity protection.
